Field signs. Spina brilliant dark-blue cap of different shades of red - from light to dark rusty. Tail without clippings, but male extreme steering feathers elongated into long thin filaments; in females and young birds filament short. Wing 113-122 mm (Ivanov, Shtegman, 1978). Distribution. Tropical Africa, eastern Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India. Jacks on the rocks near water or under bridges and viaduct through irrigation canals in southern Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan from Kushki to Chubeka on the river.
