Steller's Sea Eagle

Field signs. Black and brown, very solid, with a powerful yellow beak. Tail, head, legs and plumage spots on the wings of the white folding bars. Young birds dark without blind spots, whitish tail. In-flight has rounded rear edge of the wing. V-shaped tail. Beak is very high, bright yellow (Böhme et al, 1998).

Distribution. Coast Bering and Okhotsk seas; Amur River Valley. To the north to the 63rd parallel. To the south (including in the Amur River Valley) to 49 th parallel. Kamchatka, the northern Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands Shantarskie (northern), the island Karaginsky (Stepanyan, 1990, 2003).
