Field signs. Forehead, neck and tail white dorsal side sizaya, ventral side of a light smoky, a cap and the band from beak to the eye black. Wing 260-280 mm (Ivanov, Shtegman, 1978).

Distribution. Shoals on the coast. Louisiana Land (sel. Apuka), eastern coast of Kamchatka (oz. Nerpiche and the mouth of the river. Kamchatka), north-east coast of Sakhalin (Ivanov, Shtegman, 1978).
