Japanese snipe Gallinago of hardwickii (J.E. Gray, 1831)

Field signs. It is very similar to the snipe and the forest snipe, but by size almost from the pigeon. It is still brighter than snipe; the outer feathers of tail into the width of 5-6 mm; back is blackish, bottom in the washed away speckles. Wing is from below gray, on top without the white strip. Takes off usually with the sharp chock! . Current flight as in forest snipe, but sound low and very loud, alternates with monosyllabic croaking (Bohme and others, 1998). Propagation.
